In a video unearthed recently, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney was captured making some inflammatory comments about people who don't pay income tax in America - the people he says will vote for President Obama "no matter what."
The Quote "There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you-name-it -- that that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what. ... These are people who pay no income tax. ... [M]y job is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."

What can I say, definitely wrong choice of words on Romney's part, but he shouldn't give up on that 47%. I'm sure the voting for Obama are still voting for him after that remark. it wouldn't hurt to try to win them over even if you couldn't win most of them, but some might have a change of heart. I wonder if Romney lost some votes after his remark? If I can I'd still vote for Obama. He's still getting us to things and has been in a rather tough position, I'd give him another shot.

I disagree on what Romney said.I think that there will be less percent of people that will vote for Obama.Fewer people will vote for Obama because some people don't like him.

People vote for the person who seems more responsible. I don't think people will vote for Obama just to get there money. I don't think Romney is right.

I agree with Jerlyn, I'll vote for the person who's more responible and a leader of our country. Not caring about Tv shows or Ect. I want somone who loves this country. Not someone going on late show and be funny. Someone that wants are high school students go to college, go work after college, and then after they get done with work. Go home to a beautiful house with kids running to meet him. I want someone that makes a difference.
ReplyDeleteWho ever you are. Come fast. Untied States are tied off waiting for leader shape!

I agree with Ashley, most people think he's the one cause this economic damage. We need a leader who can keep their promises not one that says we WILL vote for them. That brings his percentage down.

You could be surprised at the human nature, all you people who think someone would't just vote for someone to get free money. I know a few people who could fit the description that they think the govt. should wait on them hand and foot, who think they are the victims. If Obama keeps up his crusade they will get what they want and hard-working successfull people will lose money they need to get by to people laying around for their welfare checks.

Some people waiting around for their welfare checks are yes lazy, but you can not stereotype all people receiving welfare checks. Some are out there searching and searching for jobs, but many are unable to find them. Would you rather have America's homeless rate go up, or our welfare checks. What Mitt Romney said may have been the wrong word choices, but he meant every word he said. Obama has done a great job of maintaining job rates. He can't control every business's choices in America therefore he cannot control EVERYTHING that goes on in this country. People need to stop putting all the blame on a few mistakes that our president has made. It sickens me.
